the_minor: Club Loyalties

Sorry, i know the community kinda died, but im gonna try and resurrect it and everybody please feel free to do so too.
But. Just out of interest, who does everyone support??

I live in Glasgow and primarily support Rangers (of Champions League greatness at the moment!!) and i travel down to watch Spurs when i can too. I've got family in North London, so its not just a name picked out the hat!!

So, once again, everybody please chip in and get the banter going.

PS. Just to mention the Rangers v Villareal game on wednesday there, the own goal that brought us level with Villareal was the best (and indeed only) backheel volley i have ever seen in my life!! The precision of it, just to pop it over the keeper and under the bar!! Sweet!

the_minor: Boro Breakthrough

So eh, Boro are through to the next leg of the UEFA cup?! What the...... I never thought id see the day!
I mean, how do you manage to be 16th in the premiership ie. how can you be crap, and still be in the last 16 of the UEFA cup?!
Football's football i guess and cup games can always be surprising.

the_minor: Really Real??

Hmm, slightly surprised that Real Madrid have declared their interest in Roy Keane. Its not really as if he make a huge difference, im thinking he'd just be a stop-gap. Getting old and not the player he used to be. Surely Real can do better.

the_minor: Keano's Goal

Anyone see the Spurs highlights on MOTD last night?? I thought Robbie Keane was EXCELLENT in his interview about his goal. He was really good with the banter about his goal that he score with his hand. I hadnt even noticed until they replayed it at the interview.
"If Maradonna can get away with it, so can I"!! Haha! Quality.

"Wayne has a long way to go to be classed as the new George Best. But he has it inside him, in his heart, to do it" - Bobby Charlton of Wayne Rooney

It doesnt change how much i hate the wee prat though. He might be good, but he's still a total retarded peice of 'tornado bait'.

the_minor: My Prayer!

Do you think that there's any chance of Rangers going all the way in the champions league, doing a liverpool, finishing in 6th, and still getting there next year?? Its the only chance we've got of getting into the champions league next year...following yet another humiliating defeat, this time to Hibs. I shall dig my grave just now. :o(

the_minor: Die Another Day; Another Death Today!

A Middlesbrough supporter has been fatally stabbed in Amsterdam following the club's Uefa Cup clash against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.
Police have also confirmed that another man suffered serious injuries following the match which took place 40 miles from the Dutch capital.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "We are in regular contact with police in Holland following information received by Cleveland Police this morning of an attack that took place in Amsterdam. This incident resulted in the death of one man and severe injuries to another man."

Oh dear! We'll probably get the official comment from the Ducth police saying that the English supporter started the aggrivation and was completely responsible for the resulting situation. Blame it on the hooligans...they wish.

the_minor: Full Time Whistle

Ah...we come to say farewell to one of the most famous football 'bums' that there has ever been.

As neilrobertson said: "You would think that with George Best in the news ubiquitously right now, there would a golden opportunity to remind us of the dangers of living a hedonistic, amoral lifestyle. But, once again, the soft underbelly of the British is revealed: sentimentality. George Best had no regrets? says Michael Parkinson. Really? I bet he had a few when he found himself hooked up to a ventilator and bleeding to death internally. I suspect the beer didn't seem so attractive at that point."

Really say it all doesnt it!! What will people remember George Best as? I certainly wont remember him as 'a world great', im too young for that, i'll remember him as the waster that ended up on death's door time after time. By saying this, I'll probably cause a total outcry, but its what the facts say.

I feel so sorry for people like Best and Gazza, who has the same kind of problems, and wish that they had turned out differently.
